if on a winter's night a traveler by italo calvino

You are about to begin reading Italo Calvino's new novel, If on a winter's night a traveler. Relax. Concentrate. Dispel every other thought. Let the world around you begins this clever, witty, love letter to the Reader. Calvino masterfully turns you, the Reader, into the protagonist, and, alternating between the second and third person, begins ten stories, each followed by a passage linking back to the Reader. This is the sort of book that would have blown my cynical teenage mind in high school, had someone given it to me, and should be on every required reading list for teens. Give it to fans of The House of Leaves. Click here for a full review. Not to be missed! Grade 9+
